Duration of Studies

The duration of study in the MSc program for obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma of Studies (PDS) is set at three (3) academic semesters, including the time required for the preparation and submission of the thesis for evaluation. Coursework is completed within the first two academic semesters, while the thesis is carried out during the third semester.

Upon request by the student, the Department Assembly may approve an extension of the maximum duration of study for a period not exceeding half of the normal duration of the MSc program. This extension is granted solely for the completion of the thesis, meaning an additional one (1) semester beyond the regular three (3) semesters.

Each cycle of the MSc program may begin in either the fall or spring semester.

The maximum allowable time for completing the MSc program is set at four (4) academic semesters.

Part-Time Study
Postgraduate students who work at least 20 hours per week and submit a relevant employment contract or employer’s certification can register as part-time students upon application, subject to approval by the Department Assembly. Part-time students are entitled to double the time for completing their studies and obtaining their postgraduate diploma compared to the standard duration of study mentioned in section 7.1 (regular duration of studies).

Part-time study is also available to non-working students who cannot meet the demands of full-time study (as decided by the Department Assembly due to health issues, family obligations, military service, force majeure, etc.). It should be noted that the duration of part-time study cannot exceed double the regular duration of study, i.e., six (6) academic semesters.

Temporary Suspension of Studies
Upon application by the student, the Department Assembly may grant a temporary suspension of studies for a period not exceeding two (2) consecutive academic semesters. The semesters of suspension are not counted toward the maximum allowable duration of study.
